| gin pole |
I rigged up the gin pole yesterday and gave it a try; still require some modifications before it is ready for regular use by the lake side. Main requirement is restricting the gin pole to two degrees of freedom, move in one plane, not 3D. I used the jib sheet to keep it steady for this photo. The mast is hanging off its rear support, clearly supported by the winch only. Next job is to find a way to maintain this movement in one plane using suitable side stays.
