Taking better photos of flowers.

This is the result of taking a point and shoot photo of some Lavender flowers at a friend's house. It looks nice; but nothing compared to the second photo!

To take the second photo, I squeezed myself against the brick wall, changed camera settings from [auto] to [macro] and used the green lawn as background for the Lavender. All the distractions, sticks, lettuces are removed from the picture. The background is also blurred a little by the macro setting so that the focus is purely on the flower right in front of the camera.
