China history

To most westerners, China has only 2 cities, Beijing and Shanghai. The products are inferior and the people uncouth and uncivilized.; air passengers all trying to open the door to go out for a smoko while the toddlers try to pee in the aisle.

China has gone through a lot of changes since my grand father escaped from the famine in 1905. He went to Borneo to tap rubber for the war effort. My father was born in British Borneo, so was I.

Why is China so successful?

I received this in my inbox a year or so ago. I guess history will be the judge.

1) US & Western "unfettered democracy" cannot work for China at this stage of her developement. It has also not worked for India; too much "red tape" & arguments & in the end, very little is done! Look at the main cities in India & even in US & compare them with China, especially over the past decade !

Feeding fish in China

You have to take your hat off to the Chinese. They cross breed Koi with some Amazon fish and produce this feeding bottle sucking fish. They start training them to take bottle feedings at 1 year old. By 2 they are on exhibition in places like parks etc. Each feeding bottle is sold for RMB 10. Most parents and young couples are happy to pay to feed the fish. It is claimed that they suckle like babies and are very cute.
